“Following two iconic vintages, Clos du Paradis and Clos de la Falaise, wine-grower Abi Duhr (Château Pauqué) has created a Rivaner that is in stark contrast to other wines made with this grape variety, which are usually served on the Remich esplanade on market days! A creator of outstanding vintages, Abi has left a number of young Rivaner vines to grow and they are now around fifty years old. As they age, their yield decreases and they exhibit great concentration as demonstrated to sublime effect in this Jungle vintage with its wonderful nose of white flowers and lemon confit combined with some mineral notes. It is frank in the mouth, releasing aromas of ripe fruit, apricots and yellow peaches. This incredibly well-made vintage is a rare and exceptional wine best enjoyed as an aperitif or accompanying a nice trout meunière.”
